Ravi Shastri - The new Indian Coach

Ravi Shastri’s intentions, his dedication towards Indian Cricket, and his cricketing knowledge and experience are fine. But the problem with him is that he’s very emotional. That’s a big issue when you are coaching a team like India. Indian players are so inconsistent, unprofessional and undisciplined that an emotional coach would end up in screwing the team even more than actually improving it. And it’d have an affect on his health also if he doesn’t do proper workout! Ravi Shastri is quite aggressive. That’s a very good thing. But I wish he was bit less emotional and more cool.

Another problem is that he’s been in the media since quite a long time as commentator and an expert analyst. He’s been quite successful too. Because of this, he’d have more tendencies to wash dirty linen in public. Because of the religious attitude of cricket fans in India and Media’s hunger for scoop, Indian team would be in a better position if it’s coach is shy of media. Indian Cricket team was under heavy pressure during world cup because of Greg Chappel’s obsession with the press.
